Altar Server Planner is a specialized application for organizing and managing altar server duties in parishes. The app enables centralized coordination of all appointments, duties, and administrative tasks.

APPOINTMENT MANAGEMENT

The application provides a clear overview of all assigned duties. Altar servers can view their upcoming appointments, access details about services, and are automatically notified of any changes. The integrated calendar function allows synchronization with the device, so all duties are also available in the standard calendar app. Push notifications provide timely reminders of upcoming appointments.

DUTY EXCHANGE SYSTEM

An integrated exchange system facilitates the easy exchange of duties between altar servers. Users can create exchange requests, make and receive counter-proposals, and track the status of their requests. All participants are automatically notified of status changes. The overview displays all open, accepted, and rejected requests.

ABOUT MANAGEMENT

Altar servers can report absences directly in the app. These are taken into account in the duty roster and are immediately visible to group leaders. Vacation periods, exam periods, or other commitments can be entered in advance.

PROFILE AND CONTACTS

Each altar server has their own profile with relevant information. The app displays a list of all altar servers in the parish or group, allowing for direct contact if needed. Group assignments and roles are clearly visible.

ADMINISTRATION FUNCTIONS

Group leaders and administrators have access to advanced features. They can add altar servers and edit their data, create new events and services, manage groups, and view and intervene in exchange requests. A permissions system regulates access rights based on role.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

The app was developed with Flutter and offers native performance on Android devices. The application functions partially offline and synchronizes changes when an internet connection is available. All data is transmitted securely via HTTPS. The implementation complies with GDPR requirements.

The application requires minimal system resources and has a small installation size. It is optimized for various screen sizes and works on both smartphones and tablets.

SECURITY AND DATA PROTECTION

Authentication is performed via secure login procedures. All personal data is treated confidentially and will not be shared with third parties. Users can view their data at any time and have it deleted upon request. The privacy policy is available in the app.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The app is compatible with Android 8.0 and higher. An internet connection is required for full functionality. Optional permissions, such as calendar or camera access, are only requested when necessary and can be revoked at any time.

ACCESS AND SETUP

Using the app requires an account provided by the respective parish. For initial setup, altar servers should contact their group leader or the responsible administrator. After successful registration, all functions are available according to the assigned role.
