At the start of each session, the grid contains a fixed number of concealed hazards placed in random positions. Every cell holds one of three possible states: an empty space, a number from 1 to 8 indicating how many hazards are nearby, or a hidden threat. The player reveals cells one by one, gradually uncovering the structure of the field.

The core objective of Ice Fishing Field is to open all safe cells without triggering any hidden hazards. Selecting a dangerous cell immediately ends the session, while revealing a number provides critical information about the surrounding area. Empty cells allow further expansion, helping the player progress across the grid.
