User Reviews

Users broadly find Murmur easy to use and useful as a voice diary with mood tracking and transcription. Many praise its simplicity, reliability, and affordable pricing. However, repeated concerns include a hard 10-minute recording limit that has been reduced in updates, problematic syncing and backups with per-use costs, frequent crashes and data loss, monetization changes that introduce ads or require subscriptions, and feature gaps like multiple daily entries and the missing insert-picture option. Overall it’s valued for its concept and accessibility, but reliability and pricing friction limit long-term adoption.
Pros
  • Easy to use and navigate with a simple, diary-friendly interface.
  • Useful for voice diary and mood tracking.
  • Voice-to-text transcription feature that converts speech to text.
  • Stable and generally reliable for daily journaling.
  • Fair pricing options for premium and a functional free/open experience.
Cons
  • 10-minute recording limit, with updates reducing it to 5 minutes in some cases.
  • Syncing/backups require paid features or per-use charges, complicating cross-device access.
  • Frequent crashes, save failures, and occasional data loss.
  • Ads and monetization changes, including ad removal leading to a subscription, can be frustrating.
  • Per-day entry limit and missing options for multiple entries per day (and missing insert-picture feature).

All I love talking and this app has made so easy for me to just get off my chest what I want to say whenever I want to say I don't have to wait for someone to respond to me anymore and I speak every night, however, like I have 20 minutes to say everything On my mind and it's amazing, it makes sleeping easier because you just don't have so much stuff going through your head, you're not reflecting on your day. It's just amazing. for a yapper like me this app helps me not be so crowded in my thought

I love this app. You can record up to 20 minutes with premium, add one picture, and just ramble about anything you want. I've been using it for months now and it's nice to listen back some recording. My only problem is that I find the title space too short. If that would be possible, it would be amazing to have a larger on even unlimited space so I can write down the longer titles or the key words so I know what to expect in that recording a few months later.

edited review: my first review of this app was 4 stars for not getting the option of inserting memorable pictures but the developer didn't listened, then its only got 3 stars because of the new down side of the app which is the ability to have a selection of date to where you want to hear back your story years ago, NOW there's new down side makes it 2 stars, the analysing the recording takes a fckng minute, it's so SLOW!! developer pls listen to your loyal users, I even paid for your premium!!
