Windows App is your gateway to all remote Windows experiences, including Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Microsoft Dev Box, Remote Desktop Services, and remote PCs.
You can use Windows App on all supported Android devices running Android 11 and above: including tablets, smartphones, and head-mounted displays.

  • Works well when connected to the same network as the PC
  • Integrates well with other Microsoft services and products
  • Basic functionality seems stable for users who can connect

  • Requires Windows 10/11 Pro for remote desktop access, limiting accessibility for home users
  • Frequent login and connectivity issues, making the app unusable for many
  • Bugs such as cursor misplacement when using the keyboard
  • No option for dark mode and other requested features like refresh button

Not available for my situation on PC host. (Requires business or school which I have business but then threw some other errors and I'm done troubleshooting for free). Would be nice if they were more upfront or inclusive, but that's kinda Microsoft as a whole right?

Update 2025-01-23: The zoom bug when using the software keyboard is still present and just as irritating as ever after 5 years from the previous Remote Desktop app. It makes the mouse unusable and the taskbar inaccessible. Clearly no one at Microsoft is testing or using this. Also, why is it so hard to deliver feedback? I get sent to an Azure feedback form where my feedback is marked off topic.
