LogCap is an app that lets you bury your current thoughts, photos, and videos as a "time capsule" on your device.

The capsule you bury will open sometime between 1 and 3 years from now.

The app randomly determines that date. You cannot choose, change, or know the date beforehand.

■ You cannot choose the opening date

Many apps allow you to choose a date, such as "it will arrive in one year." LogCap doesn't let you choose.

If you know the date, people will count down the days instead of waiting.

Because you don't know when it will open, you can forget about burying it altogether.

And then, when you've forgotten about it, it will suddenly open—that's the experience we aim for.

The screen during sealing doesn't display the opening date, the number of days remaining, or the progress.

Knowing "how many days are left" would allow you to calculate the opening date.

All you see is the state of "still in the ground" and the time elapsed since burying.

■ Digging Up

When the day comes, the capsule in the list will change to "You can dig it up."

When you dig it up, an animation will play that rewinds time to the day you buried it.

The calendar will go back one month at a time from today's date, stopping at the day you buried it.

The number of months that pass will be the same as the time you waited.

After that, the words and photos from that time will appear.

■ No Server Used

LogCap does not connect to the network. There is no account registration.

• The contents of the capsule are stored only on this device.
• It is encrypted on the device during saving (AES-256-GCM).

• The key is stored in the iPhone's keychain.

• Photos and text are never sent to external servers.

No one, including us, can see the contents of your capsule.

■ What you can put in

• Words (no length limit)
• Photos/Videos (up to 3 per capsule)

The limit of 3 is to prevent it from occupying your device's storage for years.

It's designed for users to choose their favorite photo or video from the day, rather than saving a large amount.

■ Important Notice

LogCap is self-contained within your device, but it comes with the following limitations. Please understand before using it.

【Recovery is impossible if you lose your device】
The capsule exists only within your device. If you lose or reset your device without backing up,
there is no way to retrieve the contents. We also have no records, so we cannot assist with recovery.

We recommend enabling device backups.

【Strict "unopenable" status is not guaranteed】
The opening date is determined by the device's clock. Therefore, by advancing the device's date settings,
it is technically possible to open it before the original opening date.

LogCap protects against third parties viewing the contents if you lose your device or lend it to someone.

I'm not trying to prevent you from opening it when you feel like it.

I'd be happy if you would just leave it as it is, as a promise you've made to your future self.

■ When to use it:

・You want to write down your current feelings at the turn of the year.

・You want to look back at your children's photos years from now.

・You want to send a checklist to your future self who is unsure about their career path or job.

・You want to record milestones such as moving, graduation, or changing jobs.

What you can write now is something only you, at this moment, can write.
