ShamiTune

ShamiTune is a practice app for the Tsugaru shamisen. Tuning, tuner, metronome and tempo detection, all in one place.

TUNING
Supports the three standard tunings: honchoshi, niagari and sansagari. Pick a key from 1 to 12 and the app plays accurate reference tones for the first, second and third strings. Cycle playback repeats the three strings at a fixed interval, so you can keep the bachi in your hand and tune by ear.

TUNER
Detects the pitch through the microphone and shows the note name and the deviation on an arc meter. The reference pitch is adjustable from A4 = 435 to 446 Hz, and note names can be shown with sharps or flats.

METRONOME
BPM 30 to 300, with 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8 and 12/8 time signatures. Sixteenth-note subdivision, backbeat, and an accent on the first beat can all be toggled. Turn on Tempo Keep Practice and the sound and blinking stop for the number of bars you choose, training you to hold a steady tempo through the silence.

TEMPO DETECTION
Listens to your playing through the microphone and shows the tempo (BPM) you are actually playing at.
