Secure Folder & App Locker is a free app lock and photo vault for Android. Lock apps behind your fingerprint or PIN, hide private photos and videos in an encrypted vault, and browse without a trace.

Pick the apps you want protected and Secure Folder asks for your fingerprint, face or PIN before they open. WhatsApp, your gallery, banking, email, social media, anything installed. It even suggests the apps most people lock.

PHOTO, VIDEO AND FILE VAULT

Hide photos, videos, audio and documents in a private vault. You pick what goes in through Android's own picker, so the app never scans your gallery. Hidden photos and videos leave your normal gallery, and no other app can read them.

Vault files are encrypted with AES-256 before they are written to storage. The key is sealed with your recovery PIN using PBKDF2 at 200,000 iterations, so guessing it is slow and expensive.

The vault viewer opens everything full screen. Swipe between photos, play videos, share a file, or move it back to your gallery.

ENCRYPTED GOOGLE DRIVE BACKUP

Keep a copy of your vault in your own Google Drive. Files are encrypted on the phone before upload, so Drive only receives unreadable data. Without your recovery PIN nobody can open it.

REINSTALL WITHOUT LOSING YOUR PHOTOS

Your vault lives in a folder you choose, not inside the app. Reinstall, point it at the same folder, enter the same PIN, and your photos are there. Most app lockers lose them. This one does not.

HIDE THE APP LOCKER ITSELF

Make Secure Folder look like a calculator, a weather app or a notepad. The calculator really calculates. Type your PIN, press equals, and the vault opens. Anyone else just sees a calculator.

PRIVATE BROWSER

Browse inside Secure Folder and leave nothing behind. History, cookies and cache are erased when you close the session.

INTRUDER SELFIE

After a number of wrong unlock attempts that you set, the front camera quietly takes a photo. Intruder shots stay on your phone and you can delete them in the app.

NOTIFICATION PRIVACY

Messages from locked apps become a blank alert, so nothing readable reaches your lock screen.

PERMISSIONS AND WHY

No all-files access, no account, no sign-up.

• Accessibility Service (optional): Secure Folder uses the Android Accessibility API to detect when a protected app comes to the foreground, so the lock screen appears straight away. That is its only purpose. It reads which app is in front of you and nothing else, and screen content is never recorded, stored or transmitted.
• Notification Access (optional): reads notifications only so those from locked apps can be replaced with a blank alert. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
• Usage Access: a second way to detect the foreground app.
• Display over other apps: draws the lock screen above a protected app.
• Foreground Service: keeps the app locker running, with a permanent notification.
• Query all packages: to list installed apps so you can choose which to lock. The list stays on your device.
• Camera (optional): only for intruder capture, off until you turn it on.
• Device Admin (optional): asks you to switch it off before Secure Folder is removed, so the app can offer to restore your hidden photos first.
