Step Cluck

A 5x5 grid of tiles. Each tile holds a number. Tap any tile, and its value increases by one. Sounds simple. But every tap costs a move.
Watch the counter at the top of the screen. That's your step budget. Tap a tile — one step disappears. But if your tap creates a group of three or more identical tiles touching horizontally or vertically, they merge into a single tile with a value one higher than before. And here's the twist: every merge adds steps back to your budget.
One well-placed tap can trigger a cascade. Three 1s become a 2. That 2 might land next to two other 2s — merge again into a 3. That 3 might find neighbours — another merge. Each merge in the chain refills your step counter. A single move can turn into a massive chain reaction, buying you dozens of extra steps.
But be careful. Tapping randomly burns steps fast. If you tap and no merge happens, those steps are gone. Run out of steps completely, and the game ends. Every decision matters.
The game tracks everything. Total score from all merges. Best single run score. Total games played. Watch your numbers climb as you improve. There's always a record to chase.
No levels. No time limits. Just a 5x5 grid, a step counter, and the quiet tension of knowing each tap could be your last — or the start of something huge.
