Pair Quest - flip cards, match symbols, and clear pairs before time runs out.
Pair Quest is a memory match game built around one clear task: flip cards, remember symbols, and find every matching pair before the countdown ends.
Each round shows a grid of face-down cards. Tap two cards to reveal their symbols. If the symbols match, the pair stays open and the score increases. If they do not match, both cards turn face-down again after a short pause.
🎮 CORE GAMEPLAY
Tap Play on the main screen to begin.
Cards are placed in a four-column grid. Each card hides a symbol.
Tap one card to reveal it, then tap a second card to compare both symbols.
A matching pair stays face-up.
A non-matching pair flips back after a brief pause.
Only two cards can be revealed at the same time.
The main loop stays simple:
• Flip one card
• Flip a second card
• Check whether symbols match
• Remember card positions
• Continue until all pairs are found or time runs out
Each successful match adds 100 points.
The score, level, and remaining time appear in the header above the grid.
⏱️ TIMED ROUNDS
Pair Quest uses countdown timers during each level.
Level 1 gives 90 seconds to find 8 pairs across 16 cards.
Level 2 gives 120 seconds to find 10 pairs across 20 cards.
When 10 seconds remain, the timer changes color as a visual warning.
If the timer reaches zero before every pair is found, the round ends.
The Quit button can also end the current round before the timer reaches zero.
📊 TWO LEVELS
Pair Quest includes two levels.
Level 1 uses 8 pairs and 16 cards.
Level 2 uses 10 pairs and 20 cards.
New sessions start at Level 1 after tapping Play.
After completing Level 1, the results screen can show a Next Level button to continue to Level 2.
Level 2 adds two more symbols to the set and uses a taller scrollable grid so cards remain accessible on smaller screens.
Symbols can include sun, moon, star, heart, gem, clover, bolt, crown, flower, and snowflake.
🏆 RESULTS AND HISTORY
When a round ends, Pair Quest shows a results screen.
The result screen displays:
• Outcome
• Level
• Final score
• Elapsed time in seconds
• Pairs found
• Total pairs for that level
If every pair is cleared before time runs out, the result shows a completed level outcome.
If time expires or Quit is used, the result screen reflects that outcome.
Pair Quest also includes a score history section.
The history lists up to five completed sessions.
Entries are ordered by higher score first, then by faster completion time.
Tap Play Again to return to the main screen and start fresh at Level 1.
After a Level 1 completed result, tap Next Level to begin Level 2.
👆 TOUCH CONTROLS
Pair Quest uses simple tap controls.
Tap cards to flip them.
Tap Quit to end the current round.
Use Play, Play Again, and Next Level to move between screens.
There are no swipe controls, drag gestures, keyboard inputs, or extra control systems during a round.
🎨 VISUAL STYLE
Pair Quest uses a dark purple and blue gradient background.
Face-down cards use a deep blue tone.
Revealed cards show bright symbols on a light card face.
Score, timer, level label, and buttons use contrasting colors for readability.
Flip animations show each card reveal.
The level label, score, and timer remain visible while the round is active.
📱 MOBILE LAYOUT
Pair Quest is designed for portrait phone play.
The four-column card grid sits below the header area.
Level 2 uses a taller scrollable grid so the larger card set stays accessible.
Buttons are sized for touch input.
The screen flow includes the main screen, game screen, and results screen.
🔄 SESSION FLOW
Each new round shuffles the deck before play begins.
Pair Quest focuses on symbol matching, timed rounds, two memory levels, score tracking, score history, and simple tap controls.
The experience stays direct: start Level 1, flip cards, match pairs, review the result, continue to Level 2 when available, or return to a fresh Level 1 session.
