Eating means inserting something out of the body into the body. A potato belongs to the plant world. When a person eats the potato, he raises the potato and makes it part of the animal world, the person himself. There is a complex relationship here. The purpose of man is to eat the whole world ("from the garden tree") and thereby elevate it.
