Modbus RTU Tool – Your mobile Modbus master in your pocket

The Modbus RTU Tool turns your Android smartphone or tablet into a fully functional and flexible Modbus master. Forget heavy laptops and cumbersome software when commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting equipment in the field. Simply connect your mobile device directly to your Modbus-capable field device, such as dosing pumps, sensors, or controllers, using a standard USB-C to RS485 adapter via USB OTG.

Main features:

Easy connection: Plug in the adapter, tap “Search”, and the serial connection is established immediately.

Maximum flexibility with custom tables: No rigid presets. You can freely and easily define your own Modbus register table, including Address, Name, Format, and Unit, and enter it via text input.

Support for common data formats: Flexible reading and writing of registers using formats such as uint16, uint32, ASCII, and adjustable scaling factors, such as uint16/10 for decimal values.

Real-time monitoring: After tapping “Start”, the app cyclically reads the defined registers and clearly displays both raw values and scaled live values in a table.

Modbus write function: Values can not only be read, but also modified directly in the field via the table and written to the device.

How it works:

Connect your Android device to the Modbus device using a USB-C to RS485 converter.

Select the appropriate connection parameters, such as baud rate, parity, and slave ID.

Define your register table line by line in the simple format: Address, Name, Format, Unit.

Press START to display all data live.
