SmartCarFinder is a tool designed to automatically record your vehicle's location. We don’t claim to be perfect or magical: we rely on your device's sensor technology to try and detect the exact moment you stop driving.

HOW IT WORKS (AND ITS LIMITS):
Our app uses a low-consumption Foreground Service that "listens" to Google's activity services. For detection to be reliable, it is necessary to drive for a few minutes; this allows Google's sensors to confirm that you are in a moving vehicle.

When you park and start walking, the app receives that update and saves your position. Important: Due to how Google Activity Recognition works, detection may not be instantaneous and requires a minimum amount of constant activity to trigger.

MAIN FEATURES:

Assisted Registration: Tries to save your location when you park without you having to open the app.

History: Review your previous parking spots if the detection was successful.

Navigation: Access the location and get a route back to your car.

No Subscriptions: All features are included without monthly payments.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

Margin of Error: Detection depends entirely on your phone's sensor precision and Google Activity response times. On very short trips (less than 5-10 min), the system may not have enough time to confirm the "driving" state.

Battery Usage: We have optimized the app to the maximum, ensuring minimal battery impact.

Reliability: We work to improve our algorithms, but external factors (tunnels, underground parking, or aggressive battery-saving apps) can affect accuracy.

PERMISSIONS AND TRANSPARENCY:
To try and offer an automated experience, we require:

Physical Activity: Essential for receiving Google's signals about whether you are driving or walking.

Location "All the time": Allows the app to check the GPS at the end of your trip, even if the phone is in your pocket.

Foreground Service: Prevents Android from closing the app so it can remain "alert" when you arrive at the parking spot.

Your privacy comes first: history is saved locally on your device, and we do not continuously track your movements.
