User Reviews

Most reviews praise MediaFire for easy file sharing via a single link and as a reliable cloud storage option, especially for publishing large files. However, recurring issues include app instability and crashes, changes to sign-in (loss of Google login), removal of privacy Settings, restrictive policies for free users (no compressed uploads), and various install/update reliability problems. A minority remain highly positive, but reliability and feature changes are the main negatives.
Pros
  • Easy file sharing via a single link
  • Strong overall cloud storage app praised as best/amazing
  • Good for hosting/publishing large files (e.g., Minecraft worlds or mods)
  • Saves storage space / helps manage files
  • Positive user sentiment and praise for the app
Cons
  • Frequent app instability and crashes (crashing during upload, not opening, stuck)
  • Login/sign-in issues and removal of Google login option
  • Removal of privacy settings (cannot set folders/files to private)
  • Policy changes restricting free users (no uploading compressed files)
  • Installation/update problems and general reliability issues (not installing, crashes after updates, server problems)

Where do I start? Email promo offer said $5 for 1 TB for a year: charged me $10. App is VERY glitchy when uploading. You basically can't touch anything while it's uploading or it'll interrupt and u have to start over. Can't upload by folder, so each folder has to be (re)created in app, then each item selected individually. Can't rename a file because text box doesn't rise above keyboard. The app is a total joke. There's much more, but there's not enough space to list it all. Avoid!
