Mechanichord

Mechanichord is a focused rhythm experiment built around precision, timing, and motion.
In a neon-lit future, a mechanical chicken hangs from a cable above a glowing portal. The system is simple, but mastery is not.

The chicken automatically swings left and right, following a predictable yet increasingly demanding rhythm. The player’s role is singular: tap the screen at the exact moment to release the chicken so it falls cleanly into the portal. There are no secondary actions, no corrections after release, and no randomness introduced beyond speed.

Each successful drop increments the score. Each miss immediately ends the session. With every new level, the swing accelerates, compressing reaction windows and forcing the player to internalize an ever-faster drop pattern.

The core design of Mechanichord treats failure as a meaningful endpoint. Results are recorded only when a run ends through a win or a loss, and only if at least one successful drop was achieved. Interrupting a session — closing the game, switching apps, or exiting to the menu — prevents the result from being saved.

When the app is minimized, the game automatically enters a paused state and displays a pause window. Returning to the app requires the player to consciously resume, preserving the integrity of timing and flow.

The aesthetic direction is minimalist sci-fi with neon accents and mechanical clarity. Motion, rhythm, and repetition define the experience. Mechanichord is not about excess — it is about alignment between movement, moment, and decision.
