Molvelle AR

Volvelle AR brings you into the molecular world of Sugammadex, a modified cyclodextrin used to reverse anesthesia effects. This augmented reality app allows you to visualize how Sugammadex binds with Rocuronium—a muscle relaxant crucial in anesthetic procedures—as well as with Cholesterol and Vitamin D3. Using molecular dynamics simulations (originally conducted in water, with solvent removed for clarity), the app provides an immersive experience. Rotate the interactive volvelle to switch between ligands and observe each binding interaction in detail, making this app a valuable tool for education and research.

Developed within the framework of the European Bicyclos project (EC-funded Staff Exchange project n° 101130235) in collaboration with the University of Santiago de Compostela, MD.USE Innovations SL, Carbohyde, and IES Rosalía de Castro, Santiago de Compostela.
