Sensor Data Android

Sensor Data

A great way to record, save, and analyze all your device's sensor data.

Features & Capabilities

Sensor Data is an intuitive Chrome extension that enables you to record and analyze data from your device's wide range of built-in sensors, including accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetic field, and more. It supports composite sensors like heart rate and step counter for comprehensive monitoring.

With a user-friendly interface, you can select specific sensors, adjust sampling frequency, and record data simultaneously. All recordings are easily saved locally or on Google Drive as tab-delimited .txt files for further analysis. Enhance your data insights using integrated tools such as power spectral analysis, re-sampling, and Butterworth filtering. Perfect for developers, researchers, and data enthusiasts seeking detailed sensor analytics.

User Reviews

Sensor Data provides handy graphs and exports of device sensor data and is easy to use, with visibility into device-specific sensors. However, multiple reviews complain about the pricing model, citing paywalls for saving/analysing data and perceived lack of upfront transparency. There are also reliability concerns with recording data, and some users note the app lacks GPS data. Overall, strong visualization features are offset by a problematic paid model and occasional stability issues.
Pros
  • Graphs and visualization of sensor data
  • Simple to use with useful data outputs
  • Ability to export/output data for external analysis (e.g., R)
  • Shows device-specific sensors (unique sensor visibility)
Cons
  • Pay-to-save data and multi-tier pricing model (charging for saving/analyses, with fees for local/Drive/both)
  • Reliability issues: intermittent recording failures or stops after several minutes
  • Missing GPS data / lacks GPS data in outputs

Should say up front that saving data AT ALL requires an in-app payment. Small but disingenuous. Uninstalling, very unfortunately. I like everything i was able to use.
