Clarification: "Mona" is not a government app. It does not represent the Ministry of Transportation, the National Public Transportation Authority or any other government body, and is not affiliated with them. The app was developed independently and only displays public information, from the official sources listed at the end of the description.

Mona shows you how much a taxi ride should cost according to the official taxi fare decree.

What's in the app:

• Trip calculator: Enter distance and time and get the maximum price according to the order, including activating the meter, extras (reservation, airport departure, Highway 6, Carmel Tunnels, expressway) and VAT.

• Origin and destination: Choose an origin and destination address (or "my current location"), and the distance and travel time are calculated according to Google Maps. You can always change manually.

• Live meter: The app measures the trip using the phone's GPS, displays the route on the OpenStreetMap map and calculates the price while driving.

• Automatic correct fare: Identification of the A/B/C fare according to the hours in the order, Shabbat, holidays and Israeli holidays.

• Full details: Each component of the price is displayed separately, to compare with the driver's meter.

• Receipt for sharing: A picture of the receipt with the time, distance, fare and price details. This is a receipt for comparison only, and not an official receipt.

• Trip history: Trips are saved, with taxi number, driver name, and how much they actually charged you.

• Rights and complaint guide: What a driver is allowed to charge according to traffic regulations, and help with drafting a request on the official Ministry of Transportation form.

• Works even without internet: The calculator and meter work even without reception.

Login (email, Google or Apple) is optional and allows for backup of trips in the cloud.

The calculation is an estimate only. The calibrated meter in the taxi is the determining factor, and GPS measurement can deviate by a few percent.
