Lontar is a typical Balinese term for a text written by hand on palm-leaf leaves. The meaning is also very distinctive in the sense that when the word or term is mentioned, people's image is immediately fixed on an object in a certain form, which for Balinese people in general, is still very sacred to this day.

Unlike the case with other areas, such as in Java, Sunda, Madura, or Sulawesi (in this area it is called Lontara) Lontar with all its contents is one of the spiritual riches of Balinese heritage which has a very important and strategic meaning.
