Living Netism is a social network for people who notice the threads between
things. The pagan reading the seasons. The chemist tracking ion pathways.

The herbalist preparing a winter tincture. The cob-house builder shaping mud.

The cosmologist staring at deep-field images. The midwife, the diviner, the
stonemason, the systems theorist. Each one watching the same web from a
different angle.

We built it because mainstream social media is loud, ad-soaked, and
structurally hostile to slow thinking. This is the opposite of that.

WHAT'S INSIDE

• Nodes — small interest-led communities. Plant medicine, sacred geometry,
permaculture, dream work, mycology, indigenous wisdom, observational
astronomy, breathwork, animism, regenerative agriculture, bioenergetics.
Find the rooms where your kind already gathers.
• Visions — short vertical videos from the community. Calm to scroll. No
algorithmic hijacking. The people you follow are the people you see.
• Threads — long-form writing. Field notes from practitioners, essays from
scientists, ethnobotanists, builders, theorists. Built for slow reading
rather than the dopamine drip.
• Plant Guide — 1,541 medicinal plants with traditional uses, preparation
methods, growing guides, and cross-references to recipes in the Remedies
section.
• Stone Guide — a working reference for crystal and mineral properties,
energetic associations, geological formation, care.
• Remedies — practical preparations using the plants and stones from the
guides. Tinctures, teas, salves, smoke bundles, elixirs.
• The basics done right — friends, direct messages, profiles, notifications.

WHAT WE DON'T DO

• No tracked ads. Fair play algorithmic feed. No data sold or shared with advertisers.
• Ranking is calm. The feed surfaces posts from people you follow — by
who you actually engage with most, then by recency. Switch to fully
chronological anytime in Settings. We don't rank to manufacture time
spent.
• No tracking pixels. No third-party analytics SDKs that follow you into the
rest of your life.
• No "growth hacks" engineered to manufacture rage or grief for clicks.

WHY IT EXISTS

Living Netism is a project of Netism, a nonprofit organization. There are no
shareholders demanding quarterly growth. Nothing about how the app works
depends on you spending more time inside it. We will not optimize against
you.

The internet has plenty of loud places. This is a quieter one. For the
seekers, scientists, builders, healers, gardeners, dreamers, and witches who
want a space to learn, share, and gather without being optimized against.

WHY MEMBERSHIP IS 18 AND OVER

The conversations here — about plant medicine, ancestral healing, ritual
practice, grief work, and what people actually do in their own homes and
ceremonies — need grown-up judgment to engage with responsibly. Half of
what gets shared is informational; the other half is personal in a way
that assumes the reader can hold nuance, hold context, and decide for
themselves what's true or useful for their own life.

Living Netism is also a real-world space. Nodes plan in-person gatherings.
Friendships move from a thread to a phone call to meeting up at a
permaculture site or a circle. The level of trust that requires doesn't
translate to minors, and we won't pretend it does.

Date of birth is verified at signup. Accounts under 18 are rejected. If we
later discover a minor signed up anyway, we delete the account and any
content they posted.
