Undertone

Undertone is private group voice chat for people in the same place — a campsite, a festival crowd, a workshop floor, a road-trip convoy. One person hosts a room, friends join with a 4-digit code or a QR scan, and everyone talks over earbuds: live conversation for up to 8, or push to talk for up to 16. No internet, no phone numbers, no accounts, no servers.

HOW IT WORKS
• Host a room and share the 4-digit code — friends nearby join in seconds
• Join by code, QR scan, or an invite link
• Phones connect directly to each other — on modern Androids there's nothing to set up: no router, no hotspot, no network at all
• On older phones, everyone joins the same Wi-Fi or a hotspot instead — the app tells you which applies
• iPhone friends can join too: Undertone for iPhone is on the App Store, and iPhone and Android can share a room when everyone is on the same Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot
• Works completely offline — in the woods, underground, or anywhere without coverage

Direct phone-to-phone connection uses Wi-Fi Aware, available on most recent Android phones (Android 13 and newer with supported hardware).
