RepairLens: Home Repair AI

RepairLens turns photos of a home repair problem — a leak, a crack, water damage, mold, a dead appliance — into a plan: what it likely is, how urgent it is, what to do next, and whether it is a DIY repair or a job for a professional.

Is this mold? Do I need a plumber? Photograph it and find out.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Take up to three photos: a close-up of the problem (required), a wider shot of the area, and the appliance model or serial label. Camera or photo library.
2. Add an optional note: when it started, what you have noticed, the appliance model. Each photo has a switch; only the ones you switch on are sent.
3. Run the AI inspection and read the plan. Re-run it later if the problem changes; each run uses one AI inspection.

WHAT AN INSPECTION GIVES YOU
• A title, an issue type — crack, leak, appliance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, mold, pest or other — and a confidence indicator.
• Severity in everyday words: "Cosmetic", "Keep an eye on it", "Address soon" or "Urgent — get help now".
• Likely causes, safety warnings, and an ordered list of actions to take.
• A DIY difficulty rating, whether the job needs a professional, and which trade.
• Repair cost ranges when the AI can estimate them: DIY parts and materials, and a typical professional total. US national averages in US dollars — rough estimates, not quotes; some results carry none.
• One tap opens your maps app searching for the trade the result names — plumber, electrician, roofer — or a general home repair pro when it names none. No location permission.
• Follow-up questions in everyday language, such as "What should I ask a contractor?" Text only, and your photos are never resent. Free use has a daily reply limit.

WHEN A RESULT LOOKS DANGEROUS
If a result points to one of six hazard classes — gas or carbon monoxide, dangerous electrical, major water or sewage, structural failure, mold or asbestos, or high-tension garage-door springs — code in the app overrides the AI's advice: severity becomes "Urgent — get help now", the job becomes professional-only, and the steps become stop and call a professional. This depends on the AI flagging the hazard, so it is not a detector and never a substitute for a licensed professional.

WHAT IS FREE, AND WHAT PRO ADDS
Your first 2 AI inspections are free. Only the AI run is metered: severity, causes, the action plan, cost estimates, the safety override, the maps search, text sharing and your saved inspections are free.
RepairLens Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, managed in Google Play. It adds AI inspections beyond the free two, plus a one-page PDF report for a landlord, insurer or contractor, carrying your photos, the severity, summary, causes and numbered steps, under a "Not a professional inspection" footer.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no sign-in. Inspections, photos and results stay on your device and never sync, and the app is excluded from Android backup and device transfer, so a reinstall starts empty. Photos leave only when you run an AI inspection, re-encoded first so location and camera metadata are dropped, after a notice explaining this. An optional lock holds the app behind your fingerprint or screen lock. Delete one inspection or erase them all, photo files included. Any result can be reported without sending your photo.

RepairLens gives general, non-professional home repair guidance and rough estimates from photos. It is not a substitute for professional inspection or repair.
