Practice for the DET Exam

The Duolingo English Test is adaptive: each answer changes the next question, and your result on the 10 to 160 scale comes from how well you handle thirteen very different task types in about an hour. Knowing exactly how each task works is half the preparation. This DET practice app builds that familiarity, one question type at a time.

All 13 Question Types
Practise read and complete, read and select, interactive reading, listen and type, listen and select, interactive listening, and every speaking and writing task, each on a screen laid out like the real test.

220 Practice Items with Explanations
Items come in three difficulty levels, so you can start easy and build up to exam standard. Every item ends with a clear explanation, and speaking and writing tasks include model answers.

A Strategy Lesson for Every Task
Each question type has its own lesson on how it works, the smartest approach and the traps to avoid.

AI Scoring for Speaking and Writing
Your spoken and written answers get AI scoring with an estimated result and clear feedback on what to improve, so you know exactly where to focus.

Full Mock Tests with a 10 to 160 Report
Three timed mock tests use per-item timers like the real exam and end with an estimated score on the 10 to 160 scale plus four subscores.

Know Your Weak Task Types
Progress tracking shows which question types cost you the most, so your next session goes where it matters.

Sections Covered
