Deutsch Runner

A high-octane, 3D endless runner designed to transform the challenge of learning German vocabulary into an immersive, neon-drenched arcade experience. Built with a cutting-edge tech stack including React, Three.js, and React Three Fiber, the game combines fast-paced gameplay with proven educational techniques.

🎮 Core Gameplay Mechanics
In Deutsch Runner, you are a "Vocab Operative" navigating a dangerous digital landscape. Your mission is simple but challenging:
- Spell to Survive: A German word is displayed at the top of your HUD. You must navigate the track to collect floating 3D letters in the correct sequence.
- High-Stakes Collection: Every correct letter grants points and moves you closer to completing the word. Collecting a "Wrong Letter" results in immediate damage, costing you one of your precious lives.
- Dynamic Movement: Use standard WASD or Arrow keys to move, jump, and dash. The Dash mechanic (S or Shift) allows you to burst through tight gaps or speed through safe zones, while the Jump (W or Space) is essential for clearing obstacles.
- Gem Economy: Scattered throughout the track are glowing gems. These are your primary currency, used to upgrade your operative between missions.

🚀 Power-Ups & The Cyber Shop
Survival in the later levels requires more than just quick reflexes. After completing words, you gain access to the Cyber Shop, where you can spend your collected gems on vital upgrades:
- Double Jump: Defy gravity by jumping a second time mid-air.
Immortality: A temporary invincibility shield that lets you plow through obstacles without taking damage.
- Extra Lives: Increase your maximum health to survive longer runs.
- Scaling Economy: To maintain the challenge, power-up costs scale with each purchase, requiring you to prioritize your spending as the mission progresses.

🇩🇪 Educational Integration
The game features a robust vocabulary system categorized by topics:
Diverse Topics: Choose from categories like Animals, Food, Colors, Numbers, and Common Verbs.
- Gender Awareness: The game emphasizes German noun genders (Der, Die, Das) by color-coding them in the shop and HUD, helping players internalize these critical grammatical rules through visual association.
- Difficulty Levels: Whether you're a beginner or an advanced learner, you can adjust the difficulty to change the speed of the world and the frequency of obstacles.

✨ Visuals & Atmosphere
Deutsch Runner boasts a striking "Cyber-Retro" aesthetic:
- Customizable Environments: Choose from 20 distinct, vibrant background colors to suit your mood or reduce eye strain during long study sessions.
- Glistering Effects: The world is alive with digital energy. Ambient "glistering" particles shimmer in the air as you run, and explosive particle bursts celebrate every gem collected or word completed.
- Supernova UI: The main menu features high-speed "supernova" dragging lines at the bottom, creating a sense of constant forward momentum even before you start the game.
- Dynamic HUD: A sleek, semi-transparent interface provides real-time feedback on your score, distance, and current spelling progress.

🏆 Social & Persistence
- Google Integration: Sign in with your Google account to sync your progress and save your high scores.
- Global Scoreboard: Compete with learners worldwide. The Top 10 high scores are displayed on the main menu, giving you a target to aim for in every run.
- Real-Time Sync: Powered by Firebase, your scores and achievements are updated instantly across the community.
