User Reviews

Reviews describe a useful camera app that works well for some at first, but recurring reliability problems dominate. The most common complaints are missed notifications, unstable camera connections, and failures in motion detection or recordings. Multiple users also report updates deleting saved memories or breaking features. Sluggish performance and battery drain, lack of dark mode, and monitoring stopping when the screen times out are other repeated concerns.

Pros

Some users found the camera view and controls useful or responsive.
Some users said the app worked well initially and liked its features; setup was easy for at least one user.

Cons

Notifications often fail or arrive only while the app is open, including alerts for sound or movement.
Camera connection and pairing are unreliable; users report frequent disconnects and difficulty reconnecting.
Motion/event recordings often stop working, fail to load, or disappear; several users say updates erased saved photos or memories.
The app can be slow, glitchy, and battery-draining, with freezes and repeated restarts reported.
Users repeatedly ask for dark mode and better background monitoring, including keeping the screen from timing out and picture-in-picture support.

Recent reviews

I like the features, and the app behaves fine for me most of the time. If any app needed a darkmode though it is this one. Or at least match one of the nightlight colours for background and don't go with pure white.

Convoluted unnecessary sign-up and weird permissions required. I question how this is being secured as an account is entirely unnecessary for what should be a simple E2E encrypted video stream with a simple key exchange and WiFi setup all that is necessary. I'd question whether Leapfrog could have access to the camera feed with an account. I gave up trying to get the camera to pair and uninstalled the app.
