Every note supports markdown formatting. That means headings, bold text, bullet lists, code blocks, and more — all rendered cleanly when you read, all editable in plain text when you write. No proprietary format, no locked-down editor.

The app opens with a PIN lock screen, so your notes stay private even if someone else picks up your device. On first launch a short walkthrough explains the main features before getting out of your way.

A few practical details: there is no account to create, no server involved, and no internet connection required. Everything is stored locally on your device. No syncing, no cloud backup — just your notes, on your phone.

Appearance settings let you pick a date format and adjust the font size to suit your reading preference. The interface uses a custom background with a content overlay to keep text readable without feeling sterile.

Leaf Codex was made for students who want structure without complexity — organized by subject, formatted with markdown, protected by a PIN, and nothing else in the way.
