User Reviews

Users praise Lazarillo Accessible GPS for its strong accessibility features, with spoken street names and audio cues that help blind users navigate unknown areas. However, many report core reliability issues across reviews: location accuracy and offline/mobile data problems, occasional UI bugs (search results not opening, bottom bar disappearing), incomplete features (saving favorites and dynamic routing), and localization gaps (more language options and some Arabic localization crashes). Several users also request improvements like volume control, 3D audio, and up-to-date nearby places. The app shows promise, but reliability and localization need work.
Pros
  • Excellent accessibility for visually impaired users; reads street names and nearby shops to aid independent navigation.
  • Beneficial audio cues and voice feedback, often preferred over other navigation apps for blind users.
  • Helpful in unknown places and generally easy to use for outdoor navigation.
  • Positive support from customer service when issues arise.
Cons
  • Location accuracy and reliability problems, including poor offline performance and data-dependent inaccuracies.
  • UI/UX bugs and instability (e.g., search results not opening on tap, bottom bar disappearing).
  • Routing and feature gaps (e.g., trouble saving favorites and inconsistent route recalculation).
  • Localization and language issues (requests for more languages; occasional crashes with Arabic).
  • Nearby places and bus stops can be outdated.

"The app has definitely improved with previous bug fixes. However, a new issue has popped up. When searching for a location, double-tapping the search result does not open it. This is a bit frustrating. Hope this can be resolved soon.

my name is Emmanuel and I'm a 14 year old blind teenager in the Bronx and the lazarillo app has been a really good app so far since I installed it a couple of days ago, and I really like it how it tells me every street name and shops that I pass by. it can really serve me well for my independent future.
