Aperture Android

Aperture

Manual camera with RAW, night mode, dual recording and slow motion. No ads.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

I built Aperture because my phone's camera could do more than the stock app let me use. Most Android phones hide manual controls and run heavy processing you can't turn off, so this is the camera I wanted for myself.

The first time you open it, Aperture checks every camera on your phone and tells you straight what each one can do. Ultrawide, main, telephoto and macro lenses are labeled properly, and you can switch between them with one tap.

FULL MANUAL CONTROL
Shutter speed, ISO, focus and white balance, one tap away. Change one setting and let auto handle the rest, or take full control. No digging through menus.

RAW + JPEG, NO FORCED PROCESSING
Save a DNG alongside every JPEG. What you shoot is what you keep. No beauty filters, no secret oversharpening.

WHAT'S IN IT
• Photo with full manual or full auto, RAW and zoom on every lens, including the front camera
• Video up to 4K where your phone supports it, with pause, resume and photos while recording
• Dual records the front and back cameras at once, with a picture in picture you can drag and resize, or a split screen
• Slow motion on the back and front cameras, wherever your hardware can actually do it
• Night stacks eight aligned RAW frames into one clean shot, handheld
• Macro switches to your phone's real macro lens when it has one
• Panorama with guided panning, stitched on your phone

HELPFUL EXTRAS
• Framing grids and a level that only shows up when you're tilted
• Tap to focus with a box that shows where it's focusing
• Live histogram, zebra stripes and focus peaking
• Icons turn when you hold the phone sideways, so you always know which way the photo will come out
• A built in gallery with pinch to zoom and video playback

HONEST ABOUT YOUR PHONE
Every phone is different. If your hardware can't do something, Aperture won't pretend it can. You'll see a clear message instead of a broken mode.

YOUR PHOTOS STAY YOURS
Everything saves straight to your gallery in DCIM/Aperture. No account, no ads, no tracking, and it works completely offline.

This is a personal project and I'm actively improving it based on feedback from people using it. If something doesn't work on your phone, leave a review and tell me the model. I read every one.
