KoLesson Communities & Courses

KoLesson is the app for online communities and online courses. Every community you belong to, and every course it offers, is in one place: follow the conversation on the community wall, take video lessons in the classroom, turn up for live classes, and message the members learning beside you. There are no adverts and the app does not track you.

The community wall
• Posts, comments, polls and reactions from your community.
• Categories such as Announcements, Wins and Questions, so you find what matters.
• Follow a post to hear about new replies. Search posts and lessons.

The classroom: online courses and video lessons
• Every course your community offers, with your progress on each.
• Video lessons with notes underneath. Mark a lesson done and pick up where you left off.
• Easy on mobile data: choose a lower video quality, and where a lesson video has sound, switch to audio only and just listen.

Live classes and events
• A calendar of your community's live classes and events, each shown in your own time zone.

Members, levels and the leaderboard
• See who is in your community and who is online.
• Earn a point each time another member reacts to something you shared. Points take you up nine levels, and some courses open at a higher level.
• A leaderboard for the last 7 days, the last 30 days and all time.

Messages
• Private one-to-one messages with other members.
• You stay in control: report any post, comment or message, block anyone, or switch direct messages off.

One sign-in for every community
• No password. Enter your email address and we send you a six-digit code.
• In more than one community? Switch between them in the same app.
• Light and dark mode.

For creators, coaches and teachers choosing a community platform
KoLesson gives your online community one home, so you do not need one tool for the group, another for the courses and a third for events. You get a wall, a classroom with as many courses as you need, hosted lesson video, a calendar, a members list with levels, direct messages and your community's own web address. Your members get a learning app that is gentle on mobile data, which matters in Lagos, Accra, Nairobi and anywhere a data bundle is counted.
• Schedule posts and pin announcements.
• Open a course to everyone, or unlock it at a level or after a number of days.
• Add or import members, and set how long each person's access lasts.
• See who is active and how far each member has got.
• Review reports, and remove content or members when you must.

A safe place to learn
Every community has moderators, and our own team acts on reports within 24 hours. Abusive and objectionable content is not allowed. KoLesson is for people aged 16 and over.

Good to know
