Kōlab

Kōlab is a photography app built on one idea: your best shots come from practice, alongside other photographers who care as much as you do.

Join a Mission. Add your shot. Get helpful feedback. Then add a new version of it when you want to take it further.

Aviation, landscape and wildlife are where we are busiest right now, and more genres are opening up.

• HOW IT WORKS

Join Missions
Weekly creative challenges built around a technique or an idea. Follow the ones you like the look of, then add a shot when you have one to share.

Add a version of your own shot
New in Kōlab. Re-edit, re-crop or reshoot a photo you have already posted, add it as a version, and say what changed. Every version lives on the same photo, so people can swipe between them and the whole creative journey stays in one place.

Comments that are actually about the photo
Kōlab looks at every shot and suggests specific things other photographers could say about it, so you can get more useful feedback rather than just "nice shot".

Ask for private feedback (Beta)
Feedback Rooms let you ask for honest, focused feedback on one shot, in a private space built around that photo. Rooms are rolling out gradually across the community.

A feed built around you
Your home feed leans towards the genres and the photographers you care about, and it deliberately makes room for good shots nobody has commented on yet. It is not a popularity ranking, but rather a feed designed to inspire and push you forward as a photographer.

Shots at full quality
Upload high-resolution, un-cropped images. Your work shows up the way you meant it to.

• WHAT MAKES KŌLAB DIFFERENT

- Missions give your photography a direction and a reason to go out shooting or editing
- Every genre has its own Missions, its own people and its own culture
- Your shot is never finished. Add a version whenever you take it further
- Comments begin with intelligent quick starters to help photographers say what they actually saw
- Private Feedback Rooms when you want real critique rather than encouragement
- No feed ranked by popularity, and no follower counts to chase
- Your photos are never used to train generative AI image models
- Built by photographers, for photographers

• WHO IS KŌLAB FOR

Photographers who want to get better, and would rather do it around people who get it.

Whether you are a dawn-chasing wildlife photographer, a weekend plane spotter or an all-weather landscape photographer, this is built for you. Aviation, landscape and wildlife are the busiest genres today and that is where the most Missions are running. More are opening up, and we open each one properly rather than all at once.

Each discipline gets its own Missions and its own community. That focus is what makes it work.

Come and see what your photography does when it has somewhere to go.
