Calqy - Note calculator

Calqy is a note calculator you can write on - a notepad and a calculator in one app.

Most calculators give you an answer and forget the question. Calqy keeps both. Write each line the way you would in a ledger - the item, the quantity, the price - and Calqy reads the numbers, ignores the words, and places the result beside that line. Every line feeds a running total at the foot of the screen.

When the list is finished, one tap turns it into a clean receipt you can send to a customer, a supplier or a colleague.

HOW THE NOTE CALCULATOR WORKS

Write a line the way you naturally would:

Bread 3

Calqy ignores the word "Bread", reads the 3, and prints 3 beside the line. Add the next item and the total keeps up as you type. There is no equals button to press and no switching between a notepad and a calculator.

A short list looks like this:

2 Ice-cream 23 6
Bread 3 3
Delivery 5 5

Total 26

A week later you can open that note and see exactly what every figure was for.

THE ~ MARK: KEEP A NUMBER OUT OF THE SUM

Sometimes a quantity appears twice on one line - once as a description, once inside the calculation. Write "3 Coffee 34" and that first 3 would be added to your total by mistake.

Put a ~ in front of any number you want left out:

~3 Coffee 34

The ~3 stays on the page as a note. Only 34 is calculated. Your total stays correct and your line still reads the way you wrote it. Most lines never need it.

A CALCULATOR THAT UNDERSTANDS WORDS

* Words are ignored, numbers are calculated
* Hyphens inside words stay words: "Ice-cream" and "USB-C" are never read as minus
* Percentages behave properly: 100+10% returns 110, and 50020% returns 100
Brackets, decimals and negative numbers are all supported
* The total recalculates on every keystroke
