Learn flick input from the basics. Master the Japanese syllabary, diacritics, and small characters step by step with lessons featuring a petal-shaped guide. A practice app that lets you learn at your own pace.
This app lets you practice flick input thoroughly from the basics.
"I can type somewhat, but it might be my own way," "I'm slow and my fingers get lost," "I struggle with diacritics and small characters"—this is a teaching-style drill app for people like you, helping you relearn the correct layout and direction through muscle memory. There's no rush. Speed isn't measured. The only goal is to be able to type accurately.
■ Recommended for:
・Those who learned flick input on their own and want to review the basics.
・Those who have just started using Japanese input on smartphones or tablets.
・Those looking for a safe place for their children to learn "how to type with flick input."
・Those who want to be able to react with their fingers without having to think about key layouts and directions.
■ Features
【1】The screen shows you which key to use and how to type it.
Petal guides ("Up, Down, Left, Right") appear above the keys, allowing you to see at a glance which direction the next character is in. As you get used to it, the guides automatically fade away, and eventually only appear when you make a typing error. This app guides you step-by-step until you can type without looking.
[2] Faithful Reproduction of the Standard 12-Key Layout
The 12-key layout common to iOS/Gboard is meticulously reproduced down to the implementation level. The finger movements you learn with this app will directly translate to Japanese input on your smartphone.
[3] Discover Your Weaknesses in Diagnostic Mode
After taking the initial 22-question diagnostic drill, your accuracy rate by direction (up, down, left, right, tap) and a map for each row will be displayed, and recommended lessons will be suggested, indicating "This is where you should start." You can see your progress by taking the diagnostic test, then the lesson, and then the diagnostic test again.
[4] There are 16 lessons in total; you don't need to unlock them in order.
* Lessons on the Japanese syllabary (A-Wa row) (1 lesson per row, 10 lessons total)
* Mixed Review Lesson (3 rows randomly selected from completed rows and mixed together)
* Diagram and Semi-Diagram Lesson
* Small Characters (Gemini and Diphthongs)
* 3 Word Lessons (Basic, with diagrams, with small characters)
You can proceed in the order recommended by the diagnosis, or start with any lesson that interests you. All lessons are unlocked from the beginning.
[5] How the results are displayed: Comparison with "Your Previous Results"
In addition to the absolute value of your correct answer rate, the difference from your previous results will be displayed. You won't be compared to others. Take your time, at your own pace.
