Features & Capabilities

Halfway through Jetty Dash on the second festival day, a white wind stream rolled in off the sea. Every instinct said pull harder. Instead I let the line go slack, and the gust carried my little diamond kite up towards the clouds on its own while the tension needle drifted back into the green. Three ribbons later I crossed the finish with the line still calm, and a third rosette went up on the board.

Kite Line is a one-touch flying game set at a seaside kite festival. Hold anywhere to pull the line and your kite climbs; let go and it sinks. The catch is the string itself: pulling winds the tension up, slack lets it ease, and if the gauge fills, the line snaps. Stay between the clouds above and the sea below, and give the wheeling gulls plenty of room.

WHAT YOU GET
✓ Fifteen festival heats over three days: Morning Breeze, Sea Gusts and Storm Front
✓ Named heats from Kite Launch and Pier Run to Lighthouse Loop, Eye of the Storm and Rainbow Finish
✓ A live line-tension gauge that shifts from green to amber to red
✓ Gusts that lift the kite whether you pull or not, and punish pulling against them
✓ Three ribbons to catch in every heat, 45 in all, tracked on the Ribbon Board
✓ Up to three rosettes per heat: for finishing, for every ribbon and for a calm line
✓ An endless open-sky lane with no judges, where gusts thicken and the lane narrows
✓ A kite stall with eight kites, including the Delta Wing, Box Kite, Paper Dragon, Parafoil, Carp Streamer and Monarch
✓ Festival tokens earned only by flying, never bought
✓ Twelve badges, from Lift Off to Wind Whisperer
✓ A Soft line setting that makes tension build a quarter more slowly
✓ Fully offline play with no account, no ads and no purchases, on phones and tablets

TIPS FROM THE BEACH
Think of the tension gauge as a budget rather than a warning light. Short, steady pulls keep the needle in the green, and every stretch of slack on the way down pays some of that budget back before the next climb. When a white wind stream appears, release and let it do the lifting; fighting a gust is the quickest way to hear the line snap. Gulls gather over the open water, so start your climb a little early instead of squeezing past them at the last moment. Each ten metres in the open-sky lane earns a festival token, which makes it a relaxed way to save up for the Paper Dragon. If Storm Front feels too wild, switch on Soft line in the settings and come back to it.

And when a gust arrives at exactly the right moment and you simply let go, the kite rises on the wind alone. That feeling of working with the weather instead of against it is what the whole festival is built around.
