KioskSync: Audio Receiver

By: KioskSync App
Turn a spare Android phone or tablet into an AirPlay audio receiver.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Give your spare Android device a second life as a wireless audio receiver. KioskSync receives audio from compatible AirPlay senders, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac, over your local network.

Listen to music, podcasts, or audiobooks on an Android phone or tablet. Use a spare device in the kitchen, at your desk, or alongside a smart-home dashboard.

GET STARTED
1. Connect your Android device and sender to the same Wi-Fi network.
2. Open KioskSync, choose a speaker name, and enable the receiver.
3. On your sender, open the AirPlay audio-output menu and select that name.

BUILT FOR LISTENING
• Choose a recognizable speaker name, such as Kitchen or Study.
• Receive audio in the background while using another app or with the screen off. Battery-management settings may affect playback on some devices.
• See track information and artwork when supplied by the sender.
• Adjust audio sync delay and buffer capacity for your setup.
• View receiver and timing diagnostics when troubleshooting.
• Choose light or dark appearance through your device settings.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL
KioskSync requires Android 9 or later and a compatible AirPlay audio sender. Devices must be able to communicate on the local network; guest Wi-Fi or network isolation can prevent discovery.

This is an audio receiver, not an app for sending Android audio to other speakers. It does not provide video casting or screen mirroring. Compatibility and timing depend on your sender, Android device, audio output, and network. Multi-room compatibility is still being validated.

The optional reboot reminder lets you tap a notification to start the receiver again; it does not provide unattended automatic startup. Notifications must be allowed for the reminder to appear.

PRIVACY AND SUPPORT
No account is required. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs. Audio is processed on your Android device.

Need help or want to report your setup? Open Device & app to find Feedback and Email app logs. Log sharing is optional: review the generated attachment before sending it. It can include device details, your speaker name, playback metadata, and diagnostic events. Please avoid including sensitive information in feedback.
