Features & Capabilities

"I want to leave the house in 35 minutes, but I have five things to do before that."
FitTasks is a task allocation timer that helps you complete multiple tasks within a limited time. You register your available time and tasks, and it automatically calculates the time available for each. It prominently displays the current task and the remaining time, and automatically moves to the next task when the time is up.

FitTasks' role is not just to be satisfied with making a schedule, but to make visible "what you need to do now and how many minutes you have left." It can be used when you want to fit multiple tasks into a single time frame, such as morning routines, housework, studying, work, exercise, tidying up, or bedtime routines.

[Simply set a time and list your tasks]

First, give your to-do list a name that indicates its purpose, such as "morning routine," "exam review," or "housework after returning home." Next, set the start and end times, or specific estimated time, and add the tasks you want to work on in order. For example, if you register five tasks within a 35-minute window, FitTasks will calculate the time allocated to each task.

It also supports time ranges that span across midnight, such as from 23:30 to 00:15 the next day. Evening routines or preparations before and after night shifts can be treated as a single list. The start and end times set here determine the available time. This is not an automatic scheduling function; the timer starts when you tap a card in the list.

[Two Time Allocation Methods]

You can choose how to determine task time according to your purpose.

・Allocate by Star

The available time is proportionally allocated according to the importance level assigned to each task. This is convenient when you want to allocate time intuitively without calculating precise minutes, such as "shorter stretches, longer study sessions." If all tasks have the same importance level, the allocation will be nearly equal, and tasks with more stars will be allocated more time.

・Specify Time

You can directly set "hours, minutes, and seconds" for each task. This app is ideal for tasks with fixed time requirements, such as watching a 10-minute video, taking a 3-minute 30-second break, or memorizing for 15 minutes. You can check the available time, remaining time, and excess time on the editing screen, and immediately notice if you exceed the time limit. You can also quickly adjust to fit within the remaining time using the "Fit to Maximum Time" function.

The app also displays the average and median time per task based on the assignment results. You can check whether there are too many tasks or if you've allocated a realistic amount of time to each before saving, both in the overview and in the app itself.

【Automatic Progress Timer for Smooth Progression】
Tapping a card in your to-do list starts the timer from the first task. The screen displays the current task name, remaining time, and a circular ring indicating the time reduction. Once one task is finished, it automatically moves to the next task. There's no need to reset the timer each time, making it less likely to interrupt your workflow.

It supports pausing and resuming, and you can skip tasks that finish earlier than planned. Skipping within the app uses a long-press method to prevent accidental skips. The next task can be viewed on the timer screen, and the list can be expanded in a larger view on the bottom sheet. A confirmation message appears if you try to leave the screen while the timer is running, making it difficult to accidentally end the timer.

The timer progresses based on actual elapsed time. Even when the app goes into the background, the screen is locked, or the screen orientation or display state changes, the elapsed time is reflected upon resuming. It can be used with layouts that consider various display areas, including portrait and landscape modes, and smartphones and tablets.

[Setting Pre-Completion Notifications for Each Task]

You can set notifications based on the completion time for each task, such as "Notify me 1 minute before completion" or "Prepare 10 seconds before completion." You can choose units from seconds, minutes, hours, and days, and frequently used notification times can be saved as presets. Since notifications that occur before the task time cannot be used, it's easy to notice invalid settings.

While the timer is running, the current task and remaining time are displayed in the notification area of compatible Android devices. You can pause, resume, skip, and return to the timer screen from the notification. On the lock screen, for privacy reasons, the task name is hidden in the public notification display. Using the notification function requires notification permission and notification channel settings on your device. The display method and availability on AOD vary depending on the device, OS, and manufacturer settings.

[Widget for quick access from the home screen]

You can place a resizable FitTasks widget on compatible home and lock screens. When the timer is not running, the registered to-do list is displayed within the widget. Tapping a row in the list starts the timer without opening the app.

While running, the current task, remaining time, and a circular remaining time ring are displayed, and you can pause, resume, and skip with confirmation. The display switches according to the assigned size (small, portrait, landscape, etc.). Available sizes, placement on the lock screen, and how updates appear vary depending on the device, OS, and home app specifications.

[Examples of use tailored to daily life and work]

For morning preparations, you can fit "getting dressed," "breakfast," "brushing teeth," and "checking belongings" into the time before departure, and add stars only to tasks that tend to be delayed. For household chores, group tasks like "washing dishes," "vacuuming," "laundry," and "tidying up" together, and allocate your free 30 minutes naturally. For studying, you can adjust the importance of each subject or fix the time down to the second, such as "25 minutes for practice problems, 10 minutes for checking answers, and 15 minutes for review."

For work and creative work, register tasks like checking emails, creating documents, taking breaks, and reviewing as a series of actions. This allows you to translate remaining time before a meeting or focused periods into concrete actions. For exercise, you can arrange warm-ups, multiple exercises, intervals, and cool-downs in sequence. Adding notifications before completion makes it easier to prepare for the next action.

You don't need to create a perfect allocation from the start, as you can edit the time, order, importance, color, and notifications of the same list later. You can adjust it by actually trying it out, deciding "this part is longer," "this part is shorter," and cultivate your own realistic routine.

【Customize your list】

To-do lists can be created, edited, and deleted. Each list can be given an independent name, and if the name field is left blank, the first task name will be used as the list name. You can also select previously registered task names and reuse them in new lists. This reduces the effort of repeatedly entering frequently occurring tasks such as "brush teeth," "English vocabulary," and "clean desk."

Tasks within a list can be rearranged by long-pressing and dragging. The list of registered lists can also be switched between "newest," "oldest," "start time," and "custom order." In custom order, you can long-press a card to save your preferred order. A confirmation screen is displayed when deleting or returning with unsaved edits to prevent unintended data loss.

【Create a mood-boosting screen with colors and backgrounds】

You can choose from 8 preset colors for each task, or create your own custom colors using the RGB color picker. The selected color is linked to the list, timer, widget, and progress notifications. Upon completing all tasks, a checkmark using the last task's color and confetti create a completion effect. You can return to the list with a small sense of accomplishment.

The appearance can be switched to light, dark, or system settings, and system colors are also available on compatible devices. Furthermore, you can set a photo or video selected from your device as the background and adjust its intensity and blur. Videos play silently and repeatedly, stopping when power saving settings or animations are disabled. It prioritizes both readability and personalization.

[Four Display Languages and Accessibility]

Includes Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. You can select a language upon initial launch and change it later in the settings screen. Considering system text, screen settings, and TalkBack operation, accessibility-specific up/down movement controls are provided for users who find drag operations difficult. If animations are disabled, completion information is conveyed while suppressing confetti or videos.

【Recommended for those who:】

・Want to finish getting ready in order in the short time before departure

・Want to use different time allocations for each task, not just the Pomodoro Technique

・Want to allocate study subjects and household chores according to their importance

・Want to focus only on what needs to be done now, rather than relying on a detailed schedule

・Want to keep their daily routine moving at a good pace

・Want to check remaining time via notifications and widgets

・Want to continue managing tasks in a fun way with their favorite colors and backgrounds

Reduce the time you spend worrying about "Which should I start with?" and "How many minutes should I spend on each?" when faced with limited time. FitTasks clearly organizes the order of tasks and allocating time, accompanying you from the first step to the final completion.
