Just-A-Sec

I created Just-A-Sec because other reminder apps don't work for me. If I get a reminder when I can’t get to it right away, I’ll stop it and then I’ll forget. Having to stop what I’m doing to snooze an alarm over and over is irritating, so I stop it and then I forget. So, I made my own solution.

Just-A-Sec gives you gentle reminders that repeat, but aren't intrusive. Once a reminder starts, it will send a simple ping on an interval that you choose until you tell it to stop. That's it.

I've designed this app with a focus on being ADHD- and Executive Dysfunction-friendly by:
• Reducing friction like extra button presses.
• Allowing customization for lots of flexibility, while keeping the basic app simple and easy to use right away.
• Providing options for when and where reminders trigger– right away, at a specific time and date, or even when you reach a particular location.
• Offloading the mental burden of having to keep your tasks in mind all day so you can focus on what you're doing right now.

I’ve also expanded the app to include a few more features that have been helpful to me, like a to-do list that is linkable to your reminders, and a habit tracker to keep track of goals and provide insights. With your permission, others (like your partner, family member, or a healthcare team member) can suggest tasks to add to your to-do list, while keeping your list only visible to you.

I am very committed to data privacy. I am not interested in storing or selling your data. I just want people to be able to benefit from this app. I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.



PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED:
• Notification permissions...well yeah, it's a reminder app.
• Device ID data is only used for automatic crash reporting, and for opt-in push notifications for the to-do sharing system.
• No actual personal information is collected beyond a simple device identifier that changes any time you uninstall/reinstall the app.
• Camera is used only for scanning QR codes. Camera input NEVER leaves your device.
• Microphone is used for voice commands and to record short voice clips on reminders. Microphone input NEVER leaves your device.
• Location services are used to register geofences for location-based reminders. Location data NEVER leaves your device.
• Background execution is only used to run a tiny piece of code to schedule the next repeating notification whenever a reminder notification actually goes off. The app does not run in the background otherwise.
