Aber hier leben..

"Aber hier leben.." is an awareness tool for people who want to know, in everyday life or while travelling, what kind of political environment they are currently in. The app shows you how high the vote share of far-right parties is at your current location – from the electoral precinct up to the federal level. When you enter an area where your threshold is exceeded, you get a notification – directly from the device, without the cloud.

Note up front: "Aber hier leben.." is an independent, private project by a single developer. The app is NOT a state or governmental body, has no connection to electoral authorities, and is neither operated nor supported by them. It only displays publicly available official election data.

WHAT THE APP SHOWS
- Vote share of far-right parties at your current location
- All four electoral levels: federal parliament (Bundestag), state parliament (Landtag), local elections, European elections
- Resolution down to electoral precinct level, where data is available
- Historical election results per region

HOW TO USE THE APP
- Map: tap anywhere in Germany and see the shares for all levels
- Location: your current place is shown in the banner, with tap-to-view detail
- Search: check places before you travel there – important when you are planning a trip, comparing a possible place to live, or want to assess an unfamiliar neighbourhood

NOTIFICATIONS
- Threshold freely adjustable per electoral level
- Local only, no push backend
- At most one notification per place per day

PRIVACY FIRST
- Location data never leaves your device
- No backend, no servers, no user accounts
- No tracking, no analytics SDK, no advertising
- All data is contained within the app – it works completely offline

THE CLUSTER
Grouped together as a cluster are the four parties classified by the domestic intelligence service (Verfassungsschutz) or the Federal Constitutional Court as far-right, or treated as suspected cases: AfD, Die Heimat (formerly NPD), Der III. Weg, Die Rechte. The exact classification, including source and date, can be viewed in the app under "Cluster transparency".
