BlackHole - Physics Simulator Android

BlackHole - Physics Simulator

Real-time, physically accurate Kerr black hole simulator, rendered with Vulkan.

Features & Capabilities

Look into a black hole — a real one.

BlackHole renders a rotating (Kerr) black hole in real time, on your phone's
GPU, using actual general-relativity physics rather than a pre-baked animation.
Light bends around the event horizon, the accretion disk wraps over the top and
bottom, the photon ring glows at the edge of the shadow, and the side spinning
toward you brightens — all computed every frame.

This isn't a video. Every pixel is a ray traced through curved spacetime, so the
scene responds instantly as you change the black hole's mass, spin, and disk.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPLORE
• Gravitational lensing — watch the disk behind the black hole arc into view.
• The photon ring and event-horizon shadow.
• A physically modeled accretion disk with relativistic Doppler beaming.
• Frame dragging and the ergosphere of a spinning Kerr black hole.
• Relativistic jets along the spin axis.
• A gravitational-redshift visualization mode.

REAL PHYSICS
• Kerr-Schild geodesic ray marching through curved spacetime.
• Page–Thorne / Novikov–Thorne accretion-disk model.
• Live readouts of the event horizon (r₊), photon sphere, and ISCO, computed by
a Rust general-relativity engine using the Bardeen, Press & Teukolsky formulas.
• ACES tone mapping and temporal anti-aliasing for a clean, cinematic image.

ONE-TAP SCENARIOS
• Stellar — a 10 solar-mass black hole with a hot disk.
• Sgr A* proxy — a supermassive, fast-spinning configuration.
• Maximal Spin — a near-extremal Kerr black hole.
• Schwarzschild — the classic non-rotating ring.

INTERACTIVE
• Drag to orbit the camera, pinch to zoom.
• Tune mass, spin, lensing strength, frame dragging, disk density, temperature,
size, and more with live sliders.
• Toggle individual effects on and off to see how each one shapes the image.
• Quality presets (Low to Ultra) plus adaptive resolution that targets a smooth
frame rate automatically.

BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE
A fully native app with a hand-written Vulkan renderer and a Rust physics core —
no web view, no streaming, no account required. Runs entirely offline.

PRIVACY
BlackHole collects nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no network calls.

Whether you're a student, an educator, an astrophysics enthusiast, or just
curious what a black hole really looks like, BlackHole turns one of the most
extreme objects in the universe into something you can hold in your hand.
