This app is not authorized by or affiliated with any government agency.
This app accesses data from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Japan Meteorological Agency. We obtain publicly available information from official government websites and display weather and tide information in an easy-to-read manner within the app.
Part of the tide information is based on the Japan Coastal Tidal Harmonic Constant Table data published by the Hydrographic Division of the Japan Coast Guard (published in February 1992).
Users can directly access all information on the official government website of the Japan Meteorological Agency (https://www.jma.go.jp) for weather data.

"SurfTideX" is an app that can display tide graphs and wave/weather information for marine sports such as surfing and fishing. Please try using it as a companion for marine sports.

This is the latest app in the SurfTide series (as of December 2022).
Information is now displayed in card format. This allows you to quickly access the information you want.
The point card displays high tide/low tide times and weather/wind speed/direction forecasts.
By tapping a card, you can display more detailed information about each card.

Up to 100 cards can be registered. You can also categorize the cards by assigning them your favorite color.
There are five types of cards that can be registered:

・Tide point card
・Weather map card
・Nowcast card
・News card
・WEB link card

The Tide Point Card can display a tide graph, hourly weather information (wind and wave information) for 7 days, coastal wind and wave information, and a tidal calendar by switching tabs.

The weather map card includes a live weather map every 3 hours from 3:00 a.m. the previous day to today's weather map, a forecast weather map for 24 hours and 48 hours later, and a 10-day numerical weather forecast obtained from the Japan Meteorological Agency website. You can view the diagram.

The Nowcast Card can display cloud movements and lightning/tornado forecasts at your current location as animated images obtained from the Japan Meteorological Agency website.

News cards can collect and display news related to pre-registered keywords.
For example, it is convenient to register "surf riding", "sea fishing", "typhoon information", etc.

You can register your favorite sites in the WEB link card.
It is convenient to register your favorite wave information pages to which you have subscribed.
We also introduce useful sites related to public surfing, so you may want to register there.

Two types of tide data are available.
One is data from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), which is updated every year, but this app automatically updates it to match the data from the Japan Meteorological Agency. There is data for 239 locations (2022).
The other is the Japan Coastal Tidal Harmonic Constant Table Data (JCG) published by the Japan Coast Guard Hydrographic Division (February 1992), which displays tide data as calculated values. Data for 343 points can be calculated.

In addition to the two tide data points mentioned above, you can specify 603 surf points as weather data observation points.

The "Weather Chart" and "Nowcast" cards, as well as the "Coastal Wind and Wave Information" on the Tide Point Card, use data from the Japan Meteorological Agency website. If the Japan Meteorological Agency's site structure changes or the information is not updated, the app will not be able to display data correctly.
If you report these issues, we will try to address them as soon as possible.

Weather information other than the above is displayed using the online service "WorldWeather Online".
Due to service issues (maintenance, etc.), there are several times a year when weather information cannot be obtained for several hours. In most cases, it will be restored within a few hours (one day at most), so if you are unable to obtain it, please wait for a while and try obtaining it again.

The app supports dark theme. The screenshot of the app introduction will be an image specified for the dark theme.
The initial settings are automatically set to dark/light according to the device settings, but you can also set this app to dark mode from the app settings.
