Masjid-based children and mass education activities project

"Masjid-based Children and Mass Education Program" project is one of the largest projects of Islamic Foundation with the aim of involving the imams of mosques in socio-economic development activities and education. "Masjid-based Children and Mass Education Program" for drop-out adolescents and illiterate adults has already been completed under this project and has now entered the 7th stage.

The size of the project has gradually increased and now the "Masjid-based children and mass education program" is playing a timely role in the expansion of education in the country. Through this project in the remote areas of the country, significant progress is being made in expanding pre-primary education and increasing the enrollment rate of those who complete the course in primary schools. Most of the beneficiaries of this project are neglected, poor and illiterate groups of the society. The number of students in Primary Education Center is 30, the number of students in Sahaj Quran Education Center is 35 and the number of students in Senior Education Center is 25.

Under this ongoing project, a total of 94 thousand 590 students were taught in the 1st stage, a total of 7 lakh 23 thousand 880 students in the second stage, a total of 16 lakh 43 thousand 40 students in the 3rd stage. Teaching of the Holy Quran is imparted. Similarly, in the 5th phase of the project from January 2009 to December 2014, a total of 65 lakh 35 thousand 200 students have been educated with a progress of 100%.

According to the previous continuity, the 6th phase project titled "Masjid-based Children and Mass Education Program" was approved by National Ecnec for a period of 5 years from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2019, with an allocation of Tk 150,593.00 lakhs in the first phase and it is In the second phase, with a budget allocation of Tk 227204.00 lakhs, the 6th phase (1st amendment) project was approved by ECNEC during the said period, through which a total of 96 lakh 16 thousand people in 3 levels including pre-primary, easy Quranic education and adult education will be provided with general education as well as religious education. And moral education is imparted.

Thus, from the 1st phase of the project to the 6th phase of the 2019 academic year, a total of 2 crore 15 lakh 9 thousand 950 people have been provided with general education as well as religious and moral education at 3 levels including pre-primary, simple Quranic education and adult education. As a result, the project was accepted by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on 10/05/2020 as a 7th phase project for a period of 5 years from January, 2020 to December, 2024 in the light of allocation of Tk. It is ongoing as a phased project. Through this ongoing 7th phase project, with the aim of increasing the enrolment rate of primary school students, providing pre-primary education to 43 lakh 20 thousand children through 28 thousand 800 pre-primary education centers across the country and at least 80% of the students are in primary school after the completion of education. Through 768 Senior Quran Education Centers across the country, literacy and religious values education to 96,000 adults (male, female and jail inmates) and 44,200 simple Quran education to ensure enrollment, increase religious values and awareness among senior level students and increase literacy rate. The center continues to provide education to a total of 1,21,51,000 students at 3 levels, including teaching Holy Quran Sharif to 77,35,000 school-going students and school-going teenagers and imparting awareness education on various subjects. (Continued) A total of 2050 resource centers including 550 model and 1500 general resource centers are being run across the country with the aim of creating awareness on various issues related to educational practices and socio-economics.
