Lift 13: Elevator Horror

You ride the elevator of an old Soviet apartment block. On every floor the doors open onto the same landing: the same doors, the same window, the same neighbor looking for his keys.

Almost the same.

If everything is normal, press ▲. If something is wrong, press ▼. Get it wrong and you go back to the 1st floor. Your goal is to reach the 13th.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS FLOOR?
A red lamp. A door left open into darkness. A face in the window. Wet footprints leading to the elevator. The door number is mirrored. The neighbor is a little too tall, or his arms reach his knees, or he's looking straight at you. Some anomalies you'll spot at once. Others you'll only catch if you remember every detail of the landing.

• 34 anomalies, from obvious to the ones you'll miss
• Every run builds a new landing: new layout, doors, props, colors and people. All floors in one run look the same, so you always have something to compare against.
• 9 different ways it can end when you miss an anomaly, and they never repeat twice in a row

FIVE ELEVATORS
• Passenger: an apartment block, a neighbor in a work jacket, 13 floors
• Cargo: a warehouse, a storekeeper in a quilted coat, a metal cabin, harder anomalies from the start
• Night: a hospital and a faceless doctor. The landing light is off, and all you have is a flashlight with a draining battery.
• Endless: an asylum. The floors never end, the doors stay open less and less time, and one mistake ends the run. Beat your record.
• Daily: the same floors for every player, every day. A new place each day, including a school.

KINDNESS ON THE STAIRS
Not everything on the landing wants to hurt you. On some normal floors there's a gift waiting for you: a cigarette from the neighbor that gives you an extra nerve to survive one mistake, a plate of pies, batteries for your flashlight, or a ginger cat who rides in your arms and hisses when something is wrong.

DARE TO LOOK AGAIN
If the doors close before you've decided, you can open them once more. On a normal floor nothing happens. On a wrong floor, someone notices you came back.

SIX ENDINGS
Every elevator has an ordinary ending and a true one. To find the true one, you have to reach the 13th floor without a single mistake.
