Requiring existing lifetime users to pay a recurring subscription to regain features they’ve already paid for—without offering a refund or honoring prior purchases—is unacceptable and highly unethical. This app was acquired by a predatory new owner; from Gemini: "Texpand appears to have been acquired or updated by a publisher named Prometheus Interactive. They killed the $6.99 one-time purchase. Previous buyers who paid for "lifetime access" were stripped of their Pro features and pushed onto a paywall. They added predatory weekly subscriptions. Pushing a $14.99/week charge ($780/year!) for a text utility app is outright gouging."
