O-Canada

The O-Canada (Orientation-Canada) App is an essential learning tool designed specifically for refugees selected for resettlement to Canada. Developed by the United Nations Migration Agency and funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, this app offers relevant and accurate information to help refugees understand Canadian society, supports, and services available.

Since 1998, the International Organization for Migration has provided pre-departure orientation through its Canadian Orientation Abroad (COA) programme, and now the O-Canada App complements this by offering a digital, accessible platform. Available initially in English with plans for multiple additional languages, the app can be used offline and respects user privacy by only requiring a username. It empowers refugees to transition confidently and become active members of Canadian society.
