Italio: Learn Italian, CILS B1

Italio is an independent study app by IOCODO LLC. It is not a government service, it does not represent the Ministero dell'Interno or any certifying body, and it cannot enrol you for the exam. The official sources are listed at the bottom of this page.

Italio teaches you Italian from zero, in your own language, and takes you to the language exam the Italian state asks of you: level B1 for citizenship (the CILS and CELI "cittadinanza" modules) and level A2 for the long-term EU residence permit. It teaches the language first, then makes you practise the real exam format.

WHY ITALIO
Most exam apps only give you test questions, in Italian, with no way to reach the level. Italio takes you from where you are today to B1: 1,500 words with audio, 55 grammar cards written for adults who live in Italy, spaced repetition that reviews each word right before you would forget it, and the four exam sections exactly as they appear on the day.

THE INTERFACE SPEAKS YOUR LANGUAGE
Italiano, English, العربية, বাংলা, اردو, Shqip, Română, Українська, 中文, Español, Français. Explanations, grammar and instructions are in your language. The words, texts and dialogues stay in Italian, because that is what the exam tests.

THE FOUR SKILLS, IN THE REAL FORMAT
Listening: short dialogues with multiple choice, longer announcements with true statements to find, recorded in clear Italian, played twice like in the exam.
Reading: notices, rules, emails and short articles with the statements to check, plus gap-fill texts that test grammar in context.
Writing: the formal email or message of 80 to 120 words, with the three points you must cover, a word counter, a model answer and a checklist to mark your own text.
Speaking: the self-introduction and the discussion topics. Record yourself, listen back, compare with a model answer and tick the examiner's criteria. Your recordings never leave your phone.

FULL SIMULATIONS
Three complete exams with the real timing and the real rule: every section must pass on its own, there is no averaging. The result shows each section against the pass line and tells you what to work on.

A LEARNING PATH THAT STICKS
Every lesson asks you to produce Italian, not to tap a picture. You type the word, you hear it, you use it in a sentence. Missed words come back sooner, learned words later. Miss a day and nothing is lost: the plan simply reschedules.
