A notes app for the patient hand.
Index Cards -- a quiet, offline notes app in the spirit of an old library catalog drawer. Cream cards with a red top stripe and faint blue ruling, on a dark oak shelf. Brown ink, brass corner clips. Five modes, hand-typed tag stamps, the whole drawer at your thumb.
FIVE MODES
- Text: free prose. A morning page, an idea, a paragraph.
- Checklist: a list of things to do. Tap any item to tick it off.
- Bullets: a clean bulleted list, one thought per line.
- Quote: a block quote with a vertical red bar.
- Code: monospace snippets for recipes, commands, anything fixed-width.
Pick the mode when you start a card, change it any time from the editor.
THE HOME DRAWER
A sticky top rail with the brand, today's date, and your current day-run streak as a small ticket. Below it, a single search field, four filter tabs (All, Pinned, Recent, Archived), and three quick stat chips: cards on the shelf, edits today, archived count.
The very first item in the list is the action button itself -- a dashed-bordered "+ NEW CARD" tile that fills the role of a floating button without one. Tap it, choose the mode, write the card, file it. The rest of the list follows below: pinned cards on top, then the drawer in your chosen sort order.
Each card looks like a real catalog card -- a thin red top stripe, brass triangle clip in the corner, faint blue ruling across the body, the title in heavy serif, a one-line italic preview, a small bordered tag stamp at the bottom-left, and word count + last-edit on the right.
THE EDITOR
Tap a card to open it. Header has back, pin and archive controls. A coloured accent line runs under the header. Then the title field, the mode pills, the body input (typography switches to monospace in code mode), and a tag field. A short edit history of every create/edit/archive event with timestamps. A save bar at the bottom shows unsaved state and a "keep it" button.
A small "tear this page out" button in the danger zone deletes the card with a confirmation prompt.
TAGS
A second screen lists every tag with note counts and a by-mode breakdown of the whole drawer. Tap a tag to filter the cards inside; tap again to clear.
