IndependentEyes

IndependentEyes is an application aimed at visually impaired or illiterate people, as it converts printed text to audio, identifies colors and real bills.
All functions of the application are based on images captured by the smartphone's camera. At the bottom of the application there are three buttons, the first one for color recognition, the middle one for recognizing and reading texts, and the third one for recognizing real bills.
Text recognition gets the best results from linear texts on a flat surface. Texts arranged in circles, or manuscripts, may not be recognized correctly. Texts and letters made with drawings are not recognized.
Color recognition can present colors that are not consistent with reality, depending on the amount of light in the room.
Real bills are recognized if viewed in full on a flat surface.
The application does not translate texts, and in this version, it is only available in the Portuguese language.
Does not need internet access for its operation
