Imposter Who: Party Game

Everyone at the table sees the same secret word. Everyone except one.

The imposter has to talk about a word they have never seen — and sound like they
know exactly what it is. Everyone else has to work out who is bluffing without
giving the word away themselves.

One phone. No accounts. No internet. Just pass it around.


HOW A ROUND WORKS

1. Add everyone playing, from 3 to 12 people.
2. Pass the phone. Each player lifts the card to see their word in private — the
imposter sees nothing, or a small hint if you turn that on.
3. Talk. One clue each, going round the table. Say too little and you look
guilty. Say too much and you hand the word to the imposter.
4. Vote. Most votes is out. Did you catch the faker, or send an innocent home?


WHY IT WORKS AT A REAL TABLE

No usernames, no lobbies, no waiting for anyone to download anything. The phone
goes in the middle and the game starts. It works on a train, in a tent, at
dinner, on a flight — anywhere you would otherwise be talking anyway.

Play with three people or with twelve. Set the discussion timer anywhere from one
to ten minutes. Play a single round or a whole session and let the leaderboard
settle the argument.


MORE THAN ONE FAKER

Add a second or third imposter and the game changes shape. Imposters know each
other, so they can cover for one another — which means a confident,
well-supported story is now exactly what you should be suspicious of.


MYSTERY TWIST

Turn it on and one round in the session quietly breaks the rules. Nobody is told
which round, and nobody is told what changed. Sometimes the imposter is handed a
real word and never told they are the imposter. Sometimes nobody gets the word.
Sometimes there is no imposter at all — and the table votes somebody out anyway.
