The development of the PavPlus tool was supported by ArcelorMittal, with its startup Engenharia Inovação, and support from Impacto and its spin-off Termite, and aims to quickly and accurately estimate the amount of material and cost of a slab with PavPlus System. , only feeding area, span, bucket height and slab cycle parameters. The algorithm was validated by analyzing more than 50 completed works and more than 300 preliminary projects.
After 21 years of Impacto's founding, the Brazilian market was immersed in one of the biggest financial crises in its history, with the civil construction sector as one of the pivots of this scenario, in the strategic scope, the company concentrated its efforts in this stagnant period to develop a new disruptive system, the PavPlus system, the evolution of the ribbed slab.
When you want to save on the structure, the following question comes: what would be the ideal structure?
1) Is it the one that takes less concrete and steel?
2) Is it the one that takes less manpower?
When you think of material savings, the answer would be to use the ribbed slab system, as it saves around 30% of concrete, relieves the structure's own weight, consequently, saves on steel.
But thinking about productivity, it migrates to the American concept, formed by massive prestressed slabs with flat forms, welded meshes of minimum reinforcement and with strands concentrated in one direction and distributed in the other.
Considering that around 50% of the cost of a structure is formwork and labor, the American concept was implemented in the ribbed slab, forming the PavPlus System, from then on, the ribbed slab calculation started to be calculated as a slab.
So, this new slab system, the PavPlus system, has the productivity of the American system and has the concrete and steel savings of the ribbed slab, through the use of plastic buckets and plates, saving around 30% of concrete and relieving the structure's own weight, consequently, relieving the reinforcement rate, and compared to the ribbed system, as it is conceptualized as a slab, the PavPlus system saves around 30% of reinforcement.
