Japanese Clock

I made this app because i was terrible at telling time in Japanese, and i needed a fun may to make it stick, because learning it on paper is just incredibly painful.

Telling time in Japanese has over a dozen irregular readings that trip up even intermediate learners. 4時 is yoji not yonji. 6分 is roppun not rokufun. And you just have to drill them until they're automatic. That is the point of this Japanese Clock app.

HOW IT WORKS
With the vibe of a slot-machine, the numbers randomize based on your chosen level.

You type the correct Japanese reading in hiragana — or use the built-in touch keyboard (if you don't have a Japanese keyboard installed.)
If you get it right or wrong, you’ll get instant feedback that shows where you went wrong, so you can correct it.

There is also a Cheat Sheet you can use to help memorize.

THREE DIFFICULTY LEVELS
• Easy (6 rounds): Quarter-hour intervals — perfect for beginners
• Medium (12 rounds): Every 5-minute mark — covers the core irregular readings
• Hard (20 rounds): Any minute from :00 to :59 — the real challenge

SMART FEEDBACK SYSTEM
When you make a mistake, the app tells you whether your error was in the hour or minute reading and gives specific hints about irregular patterns. Multiple correct readings are accepted (e.g. はっぷん and はちふん for 8分).

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
See your accuracy improve over time with a visual trend chart. The app tracks which specific readings you miss most, so you know exactly what to focus on.
