TagTally: NFC Counter on Tag

TagTally reads and updates a counter stored directly on the NFC tag. The number is not saved on the phone and is not sent to the cloud: it stays on the tag and follows the object. Anyone with the app can read and modify the same value simply by tapping the smartphone. It also works offline and does not require an account.

It is useful when multiple people share tools or materials and need to keep track of usage in a simple way: small warehouses, labs, schools, maker spaces, sports associations, workshops or personal kits. It is also suitable for tracking cycles, consumables and small maintenance tasks.

Usage is immediate: press “Scan tag”, view the current counter and update it by increasing or setting a new value. The new number is written to the tag and is instantly available on other devices.

The app allows you to assign a name to the tag, protect the tag with a password, configure a custom quick increment, and view a local history of reads and updates. You can also export values in CSV format. No personal data is collected.

Compatibility: smartphones with NFC and NFC tags formatted in NDEF, such as NTAG 213, NTAG 215 or NTAG 216. Tags that are configured as read-only cannot be updated.
