Hedgehog Street

Hedgehog Street is a dedicated initiative aimed at ensuring that the hedgehog, the UK's only spiny mammal, remains a common part of British wildlife. With hedgehog populations declining by a third since 2000, this extension rallies communities to create a network of gardens that support hedgehog survival.

Gardens play a crucial role in hedgehog habitats, with over half a million hectares of garden space in the UK. Hedgehog Street encourages everyone to cooperate to provide hedgehogs the access they need between gardens. Over 60,000 Hedgehog Champions are registered, forming a vibrant community committed to making a meaningful impact for hedgehogs nationwide. Join them to help protect and preserve this beloved species.
